Modern three-story house with large windows, flanked by traditional homes. Clear sky, brown and white facade, and a fenced yard. Peaceful mood.

We had been instructed to complete the Planning & Construction Drawings for this new development for 5 high-end apartments in a desirable location within Newport, Wales, on behalf of a local developer. The site was not without it's challenges, from previous applications to navigate (including an omitted underground garage) to drainage complexities and Culverts providing some additional challenges.

The site itself was full of interesting angles, proving necessary to design an interesting concept for the build, a timebr frame construction, mansard roof, and angles that needed to be accommodated, all whilst maximising the size of the plot.

With a large central communal entrance, fully glazed with a gable and comprising of a glass lift to each floor (as well as the required fire access stair surrounding it), fitting everything into such a space was a welcome challenge for us.

Overall, we are very impressed and satisfied with the fit, finish and design of the flats, with their main aim to be marketed to business professionals travelling to Bristol or Cardiff, the internal layouts and materials needed to be reflected as such, and as we can see from the internal images (provided by David James, Chepstow) .
