Wooden structure under construction with arched ceilings, skylights, and yellow ladder. Worker in green vest near open wall, outside greenery visible.

This unique Dutch Barn style annexe/garage building initially started the planning phase way back in 2020! With several iterations and design, planning and conservation hurdles, we finally gained permission for this interesting mix of agricultural and contemporary features, crammed into an open, useful annexe and garage below.

Integrating eco-friendly construction techniques - SIPs panels in this instance (provided by Glosford SIPs), we collaborated with designing an impressive first floor, featuring large curved glulam (laminated) beams across the structure to enable as much internal height as possible, whilst keeping with the Dutch Barn style.

The panels themselves, once a slab is in place, can be up within 2 weeks, as they are all constructed off-site, to precise dimensions, and integrated together on site.

Additional updates to follow with this one! It won't be long until the timber cladding and zinc standing seam roofing is in place! The windows will be spectacular also!
